Job Overview
The Director of Marketing plays a vital role in the success of the Office of Executive and Continuing Legal Education. They are responsible for creating and executing marketing and sponsorship strategies to generate revenue and grow awareness of CLE conferences (in-person and online), Executive Education programming (open enrollment and customized programming) and other programs and services the office provides. The position is responsible for promotion and management of the brand. Further, they have an important role in managing key components of the office's web site and ensuring an accurate and easy to navigate user experience; and are responsible for integrity of data and analysis of customer data, as well as the relationship building and recruiting sponsors for some conferences.
Work Interactions
The Director of Marketing has an integral role in the day-to-day business of the office. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, they work closely with the Executive Director, Senior Directors, and programming team members to create marketing strategies for revenue generation. They interact regularly with CLE program advisory board members and Executive Education prospective clients (attorneys and legal professionals from all over the world), partners and professional development staff at law firms, Georgetown Law Center/Institute directors and staff, and University faculty and staff.
The Director of Marketing also interacts regularly with outside vendors, such as printers, consultants, and graphic designers; helps the office meet annual revenue targets; collaborates with senior leadership, including the Dean's Chief of Staff, to develop growth plans for the office, and supervises student workers and may supervise one administrative coordinator position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field of study
- 6 years of progressively challenging marketing or business development experience
- Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
- Strong collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Canva, Cvent, Salesforce or comparable CRM software, and Adobe
Preferred qualification
Master's degree or comparable experience
